The solution lies in the problem itself

The ability to utilize sleep as a problem solving technique is not limited to a select few. We all are cable enough of making similar important discoveries through our own dreams. The world is not that fair; if we discuss our problems with  people, they  ask “ why do you have lot of problems?”. Nowadays people stopped discussing their own  problems with others. Because if they share their issues with people they may think pessimistic about them, and they may laugh at them. So people stopped sharing their issues with others, and  even in social media also they love to post only their happy moments most of the times. Then what best we can do towards this? How can one solve his/her own problems? In this article, a few methods are discussed , so that anybody can implement these techniques.  We always have a  question about what is the root cause problem? Why do I get into  this problematic situation? Thus  many questions pop up in our mind and need  to get a solution for the problem?

Psychological Perspective of solving a problem

What is the solution towards a problem, the solution is within the problem itself. What we need to do is to train our mind to focus on a problem. First we need to identify our problem, and  focus on that issue.

Whenever we face a problem we must question ourselves about the weight and effect of the problem and  necessity to address  it  from the other point of view to solve . This is very subtle, but it takes time and needs practice. When we step in to another’s shoes, we can see the problem as it is. Thinking from another’s prospective is an art. Once we start thinking that issue is as the problem of the  another person then  we will get detached with the problem and we start thinking with  different parameter. If the  problem is not ours and if  it’s someone else’s issue, then we continue to delve further, and will begin to extract more solutions towards the issue. Initially this process is bit difficult, but later on when we learn to find answers it will become very easier.

Dream Perspective to solve a problem

Langs (2017) coded dream technique and suggested that we can solve our problems through our dreams. If seen in this perspective every event proves to be an  instrumental  in our growth and  we have to focus and give importance towards that.

After identifying the issue before going to bed we need to remember that problem and  our subconscious mind will give a solution towards the problem. White & Taytroe, (2003) conducted a study on dream moods; they studied 196 frequent dreamers for ten days and recorded their dream content every night. From day one to day ten, they rated their levels of misery and solvability of up to 8 specific personal issues. After 10 days period they observed that  they got solutions for  their problem and distress also decreased. All experimental participants cognitively reviewed one focal problem every day. They got solutions on their focal problem through their dream content, and  their stress levels too decreased.

Conclusion: We can conclude that through dream incubation technique we can focus on solutions for  anxious and depressed moods of the day.  We can search for solutions from  the problem itself.

It’s very interesting to know that  one can use their dreams to solve their issue.

1. Raise a query. ” recall  an issue  before going to sleep and  train our dreams to respond to it,”

2. Take time and try to remember your dream. For this give 2 minutes time to recall.

3. Set a dream journal by your bed before going to bed it, and start writing about dream.

4. Set a regular sleep timetable.

5. Repeat the same question for a week until you find a solution towards the issue..
